Elias was just a civilian.

He worked in a bookstore, lived in a small apartment, and tried to stay out of the way of the city’s heroes and villains. He had no powers. No connections. No interest in getting involved in the chaos.

That changed the day the city’s most dangerous supervillain walked into his store.

Marcus — known to the public as Eclipse — was tall, broad, and terrifyingly beautiful. He had glowing red eyes and a reputation for destroying anyone who crossed him.

He also had a soft spot for rare books.

Elias didn’t know who he was at first. He just saw a handsome man who liked the same obscure poetry books he did. They talked for hours that first day. Marcus came back the next day. And the day after.

It took three weeks for Elias to realize who Marcus really was.

By then, it was too late.

He was already in love.

When Marcus finally revealed his identity — standing in Elias’s tiny apartment at 2 a.m., covered in blood from a fight — Elias didn’t run.

He stepped forward and kissed him.

Marcus froze.

“You’re not afraid?” he asked quietly.

Elias shook his head.

“I should be,” he admitted. “But I’m not.”

Marcus kissed him then — rough, desperate, and completely overwhelming. He backed Elias against the wall and tore at his clothes, growling against his mouth.

“You’re mine now,” Marcus snarled. “I don’t share. I don’t play nice. And I don’t let go.”

Elias could only moan in response as Marcus spun him around and bent him over the couch. He yanked Elias’s pants down and spat on his hole. Two thick fingers pushed inside without much warning. Elias gasped and pushed back against them.

Marcus fucked him with deep, rough strokes, one hand gripping his hip while the other pressed between his shoulder blades.

“You’re the only good thing in my life,” Marcus growled. “The only thing that makes me want to be better. And I’m never letting you go.”

Elias came with a broken cry, his whole body shaking. Marcus followed soon after, burying himself deep and filling Elias with thick ropes of cum.

He stayed inside him for a long moment.

Then he pulled out and turned Elias around. He gathered him into his arms and held him close.

“I love you,” Marcus whispered. “Even if I don’t deserve to.”

Elias closed his eyes and rested his head against Marcus’s chest.

“You deserve more than you think,” he whispered back.

Marcus held him tighter.

And for the first time in years, the city’s most dangerous villain felt like he had something worth protecting.
